Last Saturday night, just after dark, several negroes eutered the tore of Mr. Jacob UotbU in Max Con, and acted. in such n peculiar manner as to draw forth a protest from the proprietor. A difficulty ensued diring which one of the negroes cut Mr. Rothlz's throat in two places. One of the places was deep and made a very close call for his life. The negroes escaped. Mr. Rotblt had a difficulty with a negro woman in tho afternoon anil it is re ported slapped her. It is supposed that the night affair resulted from the quarrel with the woman.
