MARK IIUSSELL. .Moore Co., X. C., July 18. G-:{w [From the Journal and .\Ie.-rieiiger.] AN LP.llol*. OF THF, A(iK. Ill every town, village, or ncighborhotid, iii'li- viluids ni.-iy be i'ound, who. it is believed, are atllictcd with liver complaint: but who really l:ibor under ;i very diflerent disease. 'J'he coiii- inoii symptoms of liver affections are—pain .and tenderness in the right side, rough skin, with a vellow or bili.ius hue, jiains in tiie siioiiMeis aii'l frequently in the collar bones, together with more or less disorder of the di^otive or gans. Out of this number, not more than one tenth li.ive any of tJiese distiirb.iiici'S, except those of indigestion, which ma}' and loes exist with a healthy state of the liver. The error .f the age then is. that it is ilysp»'psia. or iiidiges- tioii that constitutes this numerous class: and not liver alfections as they are coinnioidy term ed. To prove tiiis a ctu-rect view, let any i>hy- siciaii ot experience invcsiig.ite well, and he will find that not more than one in every dozen cases have really any disease of the liver at all. P>esidcs this, nearly every case will at once be gin to improve l.>y the use ot the proper reme dies, or those combined upou scientific principles for the cure of indigestion. In conformity to these views, and strictly witliin the liuiitH of scientific medicine, have the Tonic ISitters, Vegetable I’ills, and .Anti acid been prej>ared, for the cure of tlyspepsia in all its complicated forms. The bitters are • piite pleasant and gently stimulating, and are to be taken two or three times a day: the .Anti acid .at meal times, and the Pills (which are tonic and laxative,) at night. I5y thus using the medicines daily, the most wret«died case of dvsjieiisirt in all the country will at once begin to improve; not only of that tightness an'l o]i- pression after eating, or the eructation of food, but the powers of digestion will be strengthened, and a regular action of the bowels lua'iitained. Nothwithntanding tho langour and wretched ness of feeling during tlie liours of digestion are removed, yet the medicines niii.st be continued regularly, with proper attention to iliet, until every vestige of the disease is eradicated. In valids, however feeble or delicate, can use them with tlie utmoiit advantage, as they never nau seate the stomach or disturb the bowels more than a mild aperient. One package of Dr. Little’s medicines con- .“isting of Tunic BiHtn, Antiacid and VejelaUc I'ilh, will materially relieve any one of dyspep sia or indige.stion, to be found by following the directions; and, if they do not, in any ca.se the propriet»r prescribes them tor, he will retund the pricc paid for a package. Many of the strange and mysterious compli cations of disease arising from indigestion, in .some form, will be cured or greatly improved by using the.se remedies for a while. The fac-simile of the signature of Dr. W. G. Little will be found upon the outside wrapper of eucli of his Medicines. And thought how little it would seem like ileath To sleep amid such lovelifief's. The brook. Tripping witii laughter down the rocky steps That lead us to thy bed, would still trip on. Breaking the dread hush of the mourner goncj The birds are neVer silent that build here. Trying to sing down the more vocal Traters; The slope is l>eantiful with moss and flowers; And, far below, seen under arching leaves. Glitters the w.-iriu sun on tho village spire, Pointing the living after thee. And this Seems like a comfort, and, rejilaciiig now The flowers that have made room for thee, I go To whisper the same peace to her who lies iUibb’d of her child, and lonely. ’Tis the work Of many a dark hour, and of many a pra, ver. To bring the heart back from an infant gone! Hojie must give o'er, and busy fancy blot Its images from all the silent looms, And every sight and sound familiar to her Undo its sweetest link: ami so, at last. The fountain that, once loosed, must flow forever. Will liide and waste in silence. AVhen the smile Steals to her palli*l lip iigaiii, and spring Waken its buds aliove thee, we will come.
