Daring the lecture of Messrs. Dancy
and Trice at 8t. Luke's Church on
Tuesday evening, the 16th instant,
there was' quite an interesting episode
w itnessed. An enthusiastic member of
the audience (who by the way is a Dea
con) would at frequent intervals mani
fest his appreciation and emotion by
loud and earnest exclamations, such as:
"Amen!''. "That's sol'' "Yol veil"
etc., etc. While the Rev. J. O. Trice
was making one of his most eloquent
appeals in behalf of tho temperauco
cause, after showing the evil cllects
and immorality of intemperance, he
asked u "Shall we banish the hydra
h end col monster id' intemperance from
oiir midst?" Chipping his hands to
gether and almost rising from hisiseat,
this enthusiastic auditor loudly ex
claimed, "Au, my Lord, no."'
