We re affirm our adherence to the time
honored principles of the Democratic party,
and in the interest of ourselves and of our
posterity, denounce all monopolies, high
taxes, and all extravagance and waste in
the expenditure of the people's money.
We denounce the contraction of thecurren

the Republican administration making the
rich richer and the poor poorer, which has
caused a btaguation of business, destroyed
the prosperity of the country, thrown thous
ands out of employment, and reduced mil
lious to penury and want.
We denounce the demonetization of silver
by the Republican party in the interest of
the capitalists and the bond-holders; and
j we congratulate the country on the suc
cessful efforts of the Democratic party to
restore silver to its legitimate uses even
