Clarksvilk' Hunted Up. OxroKH, N. C, April 1. 1 he entire town of Claiksville, Va , is in ashes. At 2 o'cloek this afternoon fire was discovered iu a horse adjoining Pot tingili's store and it was thought to have bpen extinguished, but later it wan ngain found that the store build- iog of Pettingill was on firo. A strong gale was blowing at the tune and de spite the most strenuous efforts of the citizens the fire spread rapidly from building to building, sweeping everything before it on both sides of Main street down to the river, and within two hours the flames had done their work. As soon as tho fire was discovered aid was telegraphed for from Oxford, and tho Oxford fire cosapany, about 100 strong, prompt ly responded and reached the city on a special train about 445, but the town was then in nshes, yet by their efforts the Hichmond and Danville depot was saved.
