Misses Broma and Wanda Wright we re guests Sunday of Miss Edith Welch, south of Siler City. Max Bray, the young son of Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Bray, is recovering from an attack of pneumonia. Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Carrick and children, Greensboro, spent the week end with relatives in Siler City. Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Cheek and their guest, Miss Margaret Daily, spent Sunday in Greensboro with friends. G. W. Brooks and family have re turned to the residential property of Wade Barber in the western section of Siler City. J. Randolph Teague has returned to his home at Henderson after a visit to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Teague, in Siler City. Mrs. L. P. Dxon has returned from a stay of several weeks at Burnsville where she nursed Miss Sadie Dixon, who was suffering from pneumonia. Tom Jordan and sister, Miss Pau line, spent the week end in Sanford with their sister, Mrs. Herman Ken- _ nedy, making the trip on a motorcy- ; cle. Lee B. Durham, who is principal of the school at Hoffman, and William ; Durham, who is a student at Trin ity College, spent Sunday in Siler City with their parents. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Savage of Raleigh, were the guests in Siler City of Miss Bessye Caviness last Saturday, going from here to the home of Mrs. Lydia Caviness, Ore Hill, Rt. 1, to spend a few days. Misses Pauline Jordan and Marga ret Dark, Messrs Guy Williams, Tom Dark, Grady Patterson and Paul Stout were recent visitors of Misses Ava Stout, Sallie Ferguson and Alma Wrenn, who are college students at Grensboro. We have received the shipment of garden seed from Congressman Pou and will be glad to send them to any one who will drop us a card or call at our office and get what you want. TOO MANY WIVES. Post-Dispatch, Rockingham, Feb. 22. i A warrant was sent from Siler City today to the sheriff for the arrest of James Carl (Lacy) Barber, charg ed with having deserted ' his first wife, Vircy Barber, on May 4, 1921, and marrying since then in Rich mond county. He is about 22 years old; the bond demanded was SIOOO. He was unable to furnish such a bond, and is in jail awaiting being seht to Siler City for a hearing. MARK TWAIN’S ANSWER.
