Two car 1 oaciS of new Fords came in last week. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Poe, Mrs. W. \ Poe Mrs. W. J. Atkins and Miss Minnie’ Cook, of West Durham, visit ed Mrs. T. M. Bland Sunday. Porn to Mr. and Mrs. Vctor John son on Saturday night, March 3, 1923, a daughter, Eleanor Winfrey. Mother and daughter are both doing fine. C. Bryan Haynes and Miss Mary Smith were married in Greensboro last wek. Mrs. Haynes is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Smith, of Oakland township. The old stables on the A. B. Clark property in the rear of the county jail has been tom down. The old Headen house, bought by L. N. Wom ble will be moved on the site. Mrs. Nannie Belle Oldham, who was bom and reared near Goldston, was married in Sanford last week to Wm. L. Foushee. Mrs. Foushee has been residing in Greensboro for several years. Bishop Cheshire will be at St. Bar tholomew’s church Sundav, March 11th at 11 o’clock. He will confirm and preach. All are welcome. Lenten sendees Friday night, March 9th at 7:30. Miss Olive Webster, representing the state insurance department was in town Monday making arrangements for the observance of clean-up week, which is scheduled this year for the first week in April. Rev. R. C. Gilmore, of Sanford, will preach in the Presbyterian church in Pitsboro next Sunday morn ing at 11 o’clock and Rev. C. L. Wick er, of Gulf, will preach in the same church Sunday night at 7:30. 4 A large crowd came to Pittsboro Monday and Tuesday, some to attend court and others through curiosity. Oldham were happily married in Pittsboro last Saturday. Squire Jno. R. Blair tied the knot that made them man and wife.
