By Rambler. “What will become of our young children,” a Pittsboro citizen asked his neighbor. “Don’t worry,” answered the neighbor. “They will be like us, grow old and worry about their children.” A Pittsboro young man was telling this to a young man. “I was out with my sweetheart last night and she fell and sprained her ankle.” “Good gra cious,” said the young man. “Did you carry her back home.” “Why, cer tainly, I carried all of her home.” “That’s a funny way they have in France,” said a citizen yesterday. “If a man is hit by an automobile the driver is arrested and the hit man is arrested for letting the automobile hit him. It’s funy business, ain’t it?” “Did you hear that lady on Salis bury street cursing the other day,” asked a citizen. “She said she tried to love her neighbor, but it strained her like the dickens; she tried to raise some vegetables but the neighbor raised some chickens.” “I noticed an item in last week’s Record about the old Headen well,” remarked one of Pittsboro’s citizens yesterday. “I think the idea a good one, even if the water was not used for drinking purposes it certainly would come in handy for fires around the busines part of town.” “If there is one thing I hate to see it is a lady with a long dress on,” re marked one of our citizens. “I don’t mind them being an inch or two above the shoe tops, but when they get long enough for the heel of the shoe to double the dress up behind, I think it is nasty looking. The short dress fashion was the best and prettiest ev er.” Soften, and Whiten the Hands by washing them well, using borax in stead of soap, rinse and dry 1 Well, then rub on mutton tallow and wear gloves all night.
