Saturday Seventh Day Ad- ' lst Gbserve Annual Event. observance of the annual week i A'j 6r begun Saturday by Seventh > L ventwts, throughout the world, I - & are being held by the mem- 1 bership in Chatham county and in adjoining counties. It has been strongly urged by the adherents to the faith to “give thanks to God for His wonderful love and grace to sinners such as we, and ask for the new and richer blessings that this season of prayer should bring to our hearts and homes and to the work of God.” These faithful people have instilled in them the thought that the Lord: has wonderfully blessed them in the • efforts of the Advent people to car ry the message of Christ’s second coming to all the world. Fifty years ago they had not a member outside of j North America, where the movement! had its rise. Now more than half the membership is in lands outside of North America. These devout people hold to the theory that the last things of pro | phecy are fulfilling. The elements of nature seem let loose with destructive force more frequently than ever, in tidal waves roaring the message that the end is at hand, in earthquake and storm and volcajiic eruption. They delight in talking about the second coming of the Lord; they be lieve it; they pray it and they make their life a part of it. They long for their Saviour to come and bring sal vation, and put an end to sin and suf fering and distress. The Seventh Day Adventists are true to their religion, and they are inculcated with the idea of being ac tive missionaries for the church, both as a whole and as individuals, in or der to do their part toward reaching every nation, kindred, tongue and people with the message of Christ’s return in this generation.
