We believe the above to be a lie. No machine will ever be invented that will catch all of the words that some Pittsboro women can say. A one dollar bill lasts some peo ple many years. A dollar bill lasts us about 11 minutes. That’s the dif ference between being progressive and a tightwad. Marriage is an exclusive female institution. It is run by women for women only. It is a female profession, her job, her way to make a Jiving. With man, marriage is an indsscretion and he is caught early. It is a fact, but a man will give more attention to his tie than to his church. A Pittsboro young man in Raleigh attended a dance. When your wet friend condemns prohibition because he can not grati- \ fy his desire for liquor, point to the government figures found in this pa per showing the big decrease in the number of inmates of the poor houses of the country since prohibition has been in effect. Every person outside of an insane asylum will admit the traffic furnished a big per cent of the unfortunates cared for in these insti tutions at public expense. Now that liquor is outlawed there are fewer of such dependents and consequently less poverty, misery and humiliation. Re member these figures are from the U. S.
