Burns, of Roxboro, to his j j home, where she will spend the holl- j I days and several 'weeks to follow. ! Mrs. Burns is perhaps Pittsboro’s old est citizen. She has many friends here who will regret her leave-taking. Mrs. Herbert E. Norris, who has been spending the summer and fall months with her mother, Mrs. Robt. M. Burns, has returned to her home in Raleigh. I Little Misses Flora Creech Norris and Elizabeth Edmunds Norris, who have had a delightful visit in Pitts boro, the guests of their great grand mother, Airs. Robt. Her friends hope that she i may scon recover and be back at her post as music teacher in the Pitts boro school. Airs. John D. White went up to i TV alts Hospital Tuesday for a tonsil operation, returning Wednesday. Report for the remaining days of this week’s court will be made next week. The report on the front page cowers Monday and Tuesday. Air. A. H. Bright received a card from the nurse with his wife at the State Hospital Tuesday to the effect that Airs. CAVINESS LINDLEY The following account of the mar riage of two popular young Chat hamites, though residents of Greens boro, is taken from Monday’s Greens boro News: ‘in a. quiet but impressive cere mony Aliss Grace Lee Lindley and J. Alton Caviness, both of Greens boro, were united in marriage Sat urday morning at 10 o’clock at the ! home of the bride’s parents, Air. and Airs. Edgar Aleacham Lindley, near Siler City. J Only a few intimate friends and relatives of the young couple witness ed the vows, which were heard by Rev. A. O. Lindley, of Siler City, uncle of the bride. He used the im | pressive double ring ceremony, j The bride, was attended by Aliss Grace Caviness, of Greensboro, sis jter of the bridegroom, and by Miss , Edna Marley of Siler City. Newton jP. Cox, of Greensboro, and Herbert I Lindley, of Siler City, brother of the 'bride, attended the bridegroorff. I Nuptial music was rendered by Aliss Christine McPherson, of Siler City, pianist, who played as a pre ude “Love’s Dream.” . She used the bridal chorus from Lohengrin as a processional and during the ceremony sounded softly “O Promise Ale.” . vows were spoken in the liv ing room where an altar was impro ved. before the east window against a background of English ivy. At either side were baskets filled with white chrysanthemums tied with bows of white tulle and lighted tapers. The bride wore a black chiffon gown fashioned princess style with softly draped skirt. Her flowers were a shoulder corsage of Sweetheart roses and valley lilies. For travel she changed 'to a black ensemble with badger trimmings and accessories to j match. I ..
