Pursuant to a resolution of the State Democratic Execu tive Committee, a Democratic Convention for the County of Chatham is hereby called to meet in the Courthouse at Pitts horo, North Carolina, on Saturday, June 28th, 1930, at 11 o’clock, A. M., for the purpose of selecting delegates to the ?tate convention which is to be held in the City of Raleigh at 12 o’clock M., on Thursday, July 3rd, 1930. Goodwin, teacher of the class, Mrs. Goodwin, and Supt. C. H. Lutterloih were also invited. Eight of the boys and eight of the girls came, but we are sorry all did not come. Everything went off very nicely, winding up with some real singing. Junius received several nice presents that were much appre ciated, and the more because hadn’t been in mind at all. A boy becomes 21 only once in life and it was the desire to give him a good time on this auspicious occasion. Ice cream and cake served. Notice is hereby given that the Democratic County Convention will be held in Pittsboro on Saturday, the 28th day of June, 1930, at 11 o’clock, a. m., and the precinct meet will be held at the various voting places in the county on Saturday, June 21st, at 2 o’clock, p. m. Each of the townships have, in the County Convention, the follow ing votes: Albright, 9 votes; Bald win, 10 votes; Bear Creek. 17 votes; . Cape Fear, 7 votes; Center 19 votes; Gulf, 14 votes; Hadley, 6 votes; Haw River, 3 votes; Hickory Mountain, 9 votes; New Hope, 9 votes; Matthews, 25 votes; Oakland, 6 votes, and Williams, 6 votes. A precinct committee of five should be selected at the meetings of each precinct. At that time the precinct committee should select its chairman, who thereupon becomes a member of the new county execu tive committee. The holding of the precinct meet ings and county convention is of! utmost importance to our party. Active interest in our success in the November election finds its begin ning in these precinct meetings. The perfecting of the county organiza tion depends largely upon the county and precinct committee be selected and, above all, an active chairman appointed by this committee. Immediately after the various pre cinct meetings are held and the committee and chairman appointed, may I request and urge the chair man so appointed, to write me im mediately, giving the names of the of his committee and their addresses. ours very truly, W.
