North Carolina’s 1930 population
is 3,165,146.
'Tabulations of official census
returns, completed today by The
Associated Press, disclose the State
gained 606,023 inhabitants during
the 10-year period from 1920 to
1930.
The increase represents a gam
of 23,68 per cent.
The 1920 population was ,2559,-
123.
The 10-year period from 1920 to
1930 saw Rowan and Durham oust
Pitt and Rockingham counties from
the first 10 in population.
In other changes Guilford dis
placed Mecklenburg as first, Bun
combe moved past Wake to fourth
and Gaston took sixth from Robeson
w r hich fell to eighth as Durham
pushed into seventh place.
The 1930 figures reveal five
counties lost population during the
10-year period. The counties and
their losses were Alleghany, 218;
Currituck, 565; Perquimans, 269;
Swain, 1,656, and Yancy, 865;
Four other counties gained less
than ! 100 inhabitants. They were:
Dare,' 8; Gates, 14; Ashe, 18, and
Camden 79. r

Sale of Real Estate by Trustees in
Bankruptcy Pursuant to Order of
District Court of United States
and Under Deed of Trust.
Pursuant to the terms and con
ditions of that certain deed of trust
from Mebane Real Estate & Trust
Company to Gentral Loan and Trust
Co., Trustee, dated April 25, 1927,
and recorded in the office of the
Register of Deeds for Chatham
County, in Book No. GR, page 266,
which said deed of trust conveys
the real property herein described
bo the said Trustee for the purpose
of securing the payment of certain
bonds therein described, and pur
suant to the order of Honorable
Johnson J. Hayes, Judge of hte
District Court of the United States
for the Middle District of North
Carolina, made in the bankruptcy
proceedings pending in said Court,
entitled “Mebane Real Etate &
Trust Company and Central Loan
and Trust Company, Bankrupts,” on
the 31st day of August, 1929, which
said order was duly entered upon
the petition of the undersigned
Trustees for the sale of the said
real property, and after notice of
all creditors and hearing thereon by
the Court, a duly certified copy of
said order being recorded in the f-o
--fice of the Register of Deeds for
Chatham County, in Book No. GW,
page 454, the undersigned Trustees
of said Mebane Real Estate & Trust
Company in said Bankruptcy pro
ceedings will offer for sale to the
highest bidder for cash, at the court
house door.-in Pittsboro, North Caro
lina, on Wednesday, the 13th day of
August, .1930, at 12 o’clock noon,

A certain tract or parcel of land
lying and being in Chatham County,
State of North Carolina, on Dry
Creek, and bounded as follows:
Beginning at a rock pile, Henry
Durham’s corner on the Hillsboro
and Pittsboro Road; thence S. E.
direction with said road to Mary
Pilkington’s line; thence Eastward
with her line to a white oak, said
Durham’s corner; thence North with
Durham’s line to a sassafras tree in
Durham’s line; thence West to the
first station, containing 58% acres,
