Misses Frances ana Elizabeth Wilkes County Baseball League Is In readiness for the clash this afternoon with the all-star team from the Watauga Baseball League, officials of the county league announced late yesterday. The “dream” game of the baseball season will be played strictly at 3:45 o’clock unless the weather man Interferes. Interesting Trip ROARING RIVER, Aug. 30.— F’ollowing is an account of an interesting trip made by Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Morrison and family: We left Roaring River the morning of August 16th, at seven o'clock. Went by Winston, Reids- ville, Danville, South Boston, Franklin, Suffolk and Ports mouth. Crossed the ferry to Nor folk and Virginia Beach. We camped at Oceana Camp, and spent several hours at the beach. We went from there to Ocean View. Went to Baltimore and Bel Air, Mary land next day. Spent the night ■with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Alorri- son from North Carolina. Went to church there and saw a lot of old friends. Spent Sunday night with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Poplin, who are originally from North Carolina. Next day we went back j which were located in the woods near the home of Luther John son in the Clingman-New Castle in section Friday. ! A large load' of apples and a horse and wagon were abandon ed by their ov/ner when the pres ence of the officers in the neigh borhood was discovered. The out fit was taken in charge by the officers.
