C. camp, located near Lake Lure, spent last week-end here with his wife and small daughter. Friends and relatives here were glad to learn last week, through Mr. H. B. Parks and Rev. N. T. Jarvis, who had been in town, that Miss ’Virginia Lane, of North Wilkesboro, was recov ering nicely from an operation for appendicitis of some weeks ago. Lumber Is to be sawed to build a large cow barn on the farm of Mrs. C. J. Lambeth, near the home of Mr. Leonard Harris. Rev. and Mrs. Seymour Taylor, of Wilkesboro, were the dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Parks, ot Roaring River, the first Sunday in this month. Mr. Bob Freshwater, of Haw River, occasional visitor to this part of Wilkes lor eight years, has finally completed the exter ior of his 5-room brick veneer cottage, ‘‘Bachelors’ Headquar- te.-\” with four open fireplaces and a green tile roof. Rev. Seymour Taylor, pastor of the Wilkesboro and Roaring Riv er Methodist churches, spent a short time last Wednesday after noon with Mrs. Laura Martin Unney. The marriage of Miss Margaret Llnney, young daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Llnney. of Hid- denite, which took place some time ago, was learned here with interest. The name of the bride groom, said to be a nephew of Mrs. Hester Llnney Dorsett, of Spencer, was not learned here. The marriage was an elopement and came as a surprise to friends of the couple.
