Mitchell and Miss Ruth Henry returned Monday from Greensboro, where they at tended cononencement exercises at the Woman’s College of the University of North Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Yale, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Bentley and Miss Minnie Martin motored to Boone and Blowing Rock Sunday. They attended the Watauga county singing at the courthouse in Boone. Dr. and Mrs. G. T. Mitchell had as their guests over the week-end Mrs. Tom Hunter and son, Tom, Jr., of Fayetteville, and Miss Ruth Phillips, of Dal ton. Mrs. Hunter and Miss Phil lips are sisters of Mrs. Mitchell. Rev. Avery Church returned Friday from Cove Creek where he assisted in conducting a two- weeks revival. He was accom panied there by Mrs. Church. Before, their return they were were presented with a shower of many useful gifts. Miss Mary Alexander, who graduated from W. C. U. N. Brookshire, being duly' sworn, deposes and says: That he has heard it rumored that he voted two ballots June 2nd; that affiant has been a citizen and voter, of North Wilkesboro Pre cinct for thirty-five years until two years ago; that affiant has always been an active party worker on election day and worked at North Wilkesboro polls; that late In the day some one asked him if he had voted and he said, “no,” and went into the polling place and got a ticket, marked it and handed it to the judge, but instantly rea lized that he could not vote in North Wilkesboro Township and turned around before he had reached the door in thu polling place and asked the judge to re turn the ticket to him but the ticket had already been placed in the box; that affiant secured an other ticket and marked it ex actly like, the ticket he had just voted and gave it to the judges Hot, of Pinehurst, left yesterday and asked’thOm to take out a for Nashville, Tenn., where they will attend the commencement exercises at Peabody College Friday.
