Due to the , abhence of the regent, Mrs. W. C. Grier, the meeting was pre- sided over by the vice-regent, Mrs. Eshelman. The usual rou tine ot business was transacted. .^tMrs. R. Q. Finley, speaker for afternoon, made an interest- InSj^ talk on Dolly Madison. At the Aose of the meeting delicious tea ^nd sandwiches were served during the social hour by the hostess. A large number of the members were present for the afternoon. led the devotionals. Prayer was offered by Mrs. A. E. Spalnhow- er. During the business hour sev eral matters ot interest came up for discussion. At the close of the afternoon a pleasant social hour was enjoyed at which time dellgFtful refreshments were served by Mrs. Shuford. Mrs. W. E. Shuford Is Hostess To Bible Class With thirteen members in at tendance the March meeting of the W|oman’s Bible class of the North Wilkesboro Methodist church was held at the Wilkes Hotel Tuesday afternoon with Mrs. W. Members Enjoy Delightful Social A delightful social was enjoy ed by the Senior B. Y. P. U. on Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Blackburn when Mr. John Kermit Black burn was host to the group. Var ious games and contests, direct ed by Miss Hllsie Nichols and Miss Shirley Foster, afforded much amusement for the eve ning. Pinochle Club Is Delightfully Entertained The Pinochle Club was enter tained Tuesday evening by Mr. and Mrs. David Lowe at their home in Wilkesboro. Guests of the club were Misse.s Ruby Hart ley and Ruby Queene and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Caldwell and Mr. Tom Bumgarner. Progressions were enjoyed at four tables throughout the evening. Tallies were in spring design and through the rooms were bowls of daffadils. spirea and for.sythia. High score award for the ladies went to Mrs. Pressley Myers and James Lowe was high scorer a- mong the men. Consolation prize went to Mr. John Cashion.
