Mr. and Mrs. Hubbard were married on April 13, 1890, at her home near Elkin and since that time have made their home at Moravian Falls and throughout half a century have been highly esteemed residents of that com munity. He has .been engaged in farm ing, lumbering and the mercantile busine.ss but has always found time to take an active part in church and community affairs^ For many years he has been sup erintendent of the Moravian Falls Methodist Sunday school and a member of tlie board of stewards of the church. Mr and Mrs. HuUUard have seven children, all of whom iwere present to join with them in the joy of the occasion: H. C. Hub- hard. of Salisbury; Miss Ruth Hubbard, of Moravian Falls: J. O.
