Picnic Supper and Card Game
Enjoyed By CJub Trlejibers
A most enjoyable evening was
spent together hy the memibers
of the Young Matron’s Contract
club and their husbands on Tues-
Uay when the group met at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. B. A.
Lewis for a picnic supper and a
game of cards afterwards^ The
supper was served on the terrace
of the Lewis home after which
four tables were made up for
bridge and one for Chinese rum-
mie.
I In bridge the high score prise
for the ladies was won by Mrs.
Harry Pearson and for the men,
Mr. A. M. Church, Jr. Low score
award was received by Mrs.. Ru
fus Church. Mr. Harry Pearson
was the winner in the rummie
game.

their monthly meeting with Mrs.
A. M. Church, Jr., as associate
hostess. An interesting progr^
was given by the G. A. girls un

Cooper. Miss Lillian Stafford,
chairman of the circle, was In
charge of the usual business ses
sion. Around twenty were pres
ent and were served delicious re
freshments during the social
hour.

A delightful meeting was held
by the members of the Bluebird
club when Mrs. Willie Felts was
hostess to the group at her home
Thursday evening. The members
of club along with three visitors
engaged in a period of sewing
and also played some rook. At
the close of the evening the hos
tess served a tempting salad
course.

Auxiliaiy’ In Meeting
The May meeting of the North
Wilkesboro Methodist Auxiliary
was held at the church Tuesday
afternoon with Miss Maanlo S'oek-
well presiding due to.the absence
of the president. The program
was given by the Franklin circle
with Mrs. Guy Lillard in charge.
Miss Lois Scroggs gave the life
story of Mrs. Luke Johnson and
the meditation was given by Miss
Jean Moore. A short business ses
sion followed the program.

Bridge Club Hostess
The members of “Our Bridge
Club’’ were delightfully entertain
ed by Miss Helen Blevins at her
home in Wilkesboro Monday eve
ning. Three tables were arranged
for play in a colorful setting of
spring flowers with the tallies
being in the spring effect. High
score prize in the game v.as won
by Mrs. Alene G. Upchurcli and
the bingo prize by Mrs. Dannie
Mae Landis.
Mrs. John Maden, of Johnston
City, Tenn., and a sister of the
hoste.ss was a visitor of the club.
Miss Blevins, assisted by Mrs.
Maok Prof fit. served a tempting
Ice couurse at the conclusion of
play.
Mrs. William Barber
Entertains Bridge Club
Mrs. William Barber was hos
tess to the members of her bridge
club at her home In Wilkesboro
Saturday afternoon at which time
two tabies were made up for the
game. The top score prize among
the club members went to Mrs.
Palmer Horton while among the
visitors, Mrs. Hill Carlton was
the winner. A salad course w-as
served at the conclusion of play.
The home was attractively deco
rated with spring flowers.
Rev. S. I. Watts filled his regu
lar appointments at Pleasant Hill
and Bethel Saturday and Sunday.
