Wilkesboro Wfmt^^s Gub Met Friday Evening With practically all of ';he members present an interesting meeting of the Wilkesboro Wom an’s club was held at the Com munity House FViday evening with Mrs. Julius C. Hubbard, Mrs. George Kennedy, Mrs, Charles Hulcher, and Miss Eloise Starr as hostesses. The program for the evening was arranged by Mrs. L. B. Dula. chairman of the art department, and Mrs. C. H. Cowles, state citi zenship chairman. Mrs. Dula told j about a famou.? museum in Sara Sota. Fla., and Mrs. N. O. Smoak about the art galleries she visited I in New York City this spring, describing some of the pictures in detail. For Mrs. Cowles part of the program she gave the rules governing the use of our flag, and led a Professor Quiz program on the flag, while Mrs. William Bar ber made a talk on Americanism. Mrs. R. E. Preveite played a pi ano selection. .Mis. E. N. Woman’s Society Hold.s Monthly Meeting The monthly meeting of the Woman’s Society of Christian Service of the Wilkesboro Meth odist church was held Wednes day afternoon at the ho-me of Mrs. A. R. Refreshinenls were serv ed during the social hour. -Mrs. Frank Gent^ Entertains Her C’ub Mrs. Frank Gentry was hostess to the members of the “Amici Club’’ on Monday evening at her home in Wilkesboro. The living room w-as attractively decorated with spring flowers with iris pre dominating, while the table ap pointments carried out a color scheme of green, yellow and wihite. Preceding the game, the lio.siess served a delicious salad coi -se. Three progressions of play dl )wed with attractive prizes going to Mrs. Tom Dula for high score, and to Mrs. Charles Hulch er and Miss Eva Lee Guthrie for bingo. First Baptist Boys And Girls Attend Meeting A number of hoys and girls of the First Baptist church attended a meeting at Ridgecrest last week. Mrs. R. P. Casey and Mrs. Monroe Eller accompanied the following girls there, who .stayed from Monday through Wednes day. The girls, members of the Girls’ Auxiliary, were Doris Cas ey, Annie Marie, and Helen Ell er, Betty Tuttle, Hilda Dennis. Peggy Nichols, Mary Wells,. Patsy McNeil, Elizabeth, Betty Lou Fos ter, Mary Ann Casey, and Bobble Casey. 'The boys, the Royal Amitas,sa- dors, went up Wednesday and re turned Friday, and they were ac companied by Mrs. R. T. McNeil. ,The boys were Edwin Chipman, Jimmy Moore, Dick McNeil, and Roscoe McNeil. Stone Mountain Singing June 29 At Baptist Home J. A. Gilliam, chairman, has announced that the next session of Stone Mountain union singing will be held at. Baptist Home church five miles north of North Wilkeeiboro on Sunday, June 29. Phillips raised the subject of the need of a public tennis court and the Boys and Girls committee was asked to in vestigate the matter. M. D. Speer, of Ohio, was a guest of John E. Justice at the meeting. CLUB Four-H Club memhers of Greene county are interested in .starting a dairy calf club, accord ing to J. W. Grant, assistant farm agent of the N. C. State College Extension Service.
