Hayes of i North Wllkesboro in a ceremony which took place Christmas day at 2 o'clock at Oak Grove Baptist [ church. Rev. W. D. ' The bride and groom entered the chnrch together unattended. The single ring ceremony • was used. . The bride wore a suit of soft blue with black accessories. 8he carried a noaegay of red roses from which flowed streamers of red and white. Alter the ceremony followed a cake-cutting at the homo of the bride. Christmas decorations were beautifully arranged in the home. Only members of the two fami lies and a lew Intimate friends were present. After the cake-cutting the couple left for a sho’-t wedding trip. Mrs. Hayes, a graduate of Ap palachian High School, Is a sen ior at Appalachian State Teach ers College. The bridegroom was graduat ed from Wllkesboro High School and served three years in the U. S. Rousseau Mrs. Ted Corpenter Home Club Hostess Mrs. Ted Carpenter was hos tess to the Roaring River home demonstration club at her home on Monday, December 30. The meeting set for December 20 was postponed due to the death in family of one of the members. Mrs. Ted Carpenter, the pres ident, presided. Members repeat ed the club collect in unison. Of ficers for the new year, were elected as follows; Mrs. Ted Carpenter, president; Mrs. Rufus Gilliam, vice president; Mrs. A. C. Staley, secretary; Mrs. J. N. Brewer, treasurer; and Mrs. G, W. Scroggs, reccrdlng secretary. The members were happy to have Mrs. Annie H. Greene back after her recent Illness. She gave a most interesting discus sion on “Recreation in The Horae and a True Christmas Spir it Among Members of the Fam ily.’’ She led the group In a number of interesting Christmas games and contests. Each mem ber was given some new recipes. The hostess served tempting re freshments. The nest meeting will be held with Mrs. James Henderson on .lanuary 17. Heart sisters will be drawn at this time.
