Martha Matildia Brewer Ow
ens, widow of 'Rev. Jimmle Man
ly Owens, was .born June 27,
1864, and died February 6, 1947,
making her stay on earth 82
years, 7 months and 11 days.
She wAs united In marriage to
Jimmle Manly Owens on March
29, 1885. To this union four chil
dren were' born: James Frank
lin, Russell and Sarah Owens,
all of Hays. One eon, Charlie Ow
ens preceded her in death. She
is also survived iby two grand
sons.

faithful member until death.
She wae a loving mother sad
grandmother, leaving a host of

The funeral service was held
at the home on Saturday, Febru
ary 8, by Revs. C. C. Burcham,
Jlmmle Bryant, Ernest Blerins,
Clarence Miller, Rule Harrold,
and Wirt Walker. The active
pall bearers were P. H. Rhoades,
Loyd Rhoades, Olln Rhoades,
Raye Brewer, Vestel Walker and
Fred Miller.
A beautiful floral offering was
carried by nieces and friends.

in Salem, who was the officiat
ing minister.

with the Selective Service Board

The groom, who attended the

College, was in service tor four
years, fourteen months of which
was with the Air Transport
Command in Roue, Italy. He is
