Man pastor of the church, offi ciated, using the double ring wemony. | Before the ceremony Miss Mary Louise Clements, organist, of North Wllkeeboro, Mrs. Rhodes 8igmon, soprano, of Hickory, and Jacob Golden, bari tone, of Hickory, presented a' program of nuptial music. The bride was given in mar riage by her brother, Ned L. Story of Salisbury, and the bride groom had as his best man Lloyd Little of Shelby. Miss Ann Nelson of Lenoir was maid-of-honor. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Ned L. Story of Salis bury, Mrs. Glenn B>. Yount of Newton, Mrs. Alice Duffer of Spartanburg, S. C. and Miss Grace Frank Kilby of Forth Wll kesboro. The ushers were Worth Mor ris of Shelby, Dick Hwrdy of Spartanburg, S. C., Floyd Brown ley, Jr., of Clemson College, S. C., and Homer Barrett of High Eoint. The bride wore a handsome gown of white duchess satin with The Wilkes TaOey of the U. D. 0. will be held Monday afternoon, 8:80 o' clock, at the home of Mrs. Joe. E. Johnson. a high round yoke of white mar quisette, giving an off-shoulder effect, long fitted sleeves, ending in a point over her hand, basque waist, buttoned from neckline to waist with self-covered buttons, and full skirt with a generous train. She wore a full-length veil of bridal illusion attached by orange blossoms to a shirred crown. She carried a bouquet of white roses and white sweet peas centered with a white or chid, and showered with satin streamers ? caught with white sweetpeas. ? The maid-of-honor wore a blue taffeta dress with off-shoulder effect neckline, tight bodice and full skirt with bustle htpline. She carried. a bouquet of pink roses showered with pink net and tied with Pink satin ribbons. The dresses of the bridesmaids were identical to that worn by the mald-of-honor. They carried bouquets of yellow roses and yel low gypeophilia tied with yellow satin ribbon. After the ceremony, the cou ple left on a wedding trip to Flordia. For traveling the bride wore an ice blue Peter Leunox gabardine suit, brown accessor ies, yellow topcoat and a bou quet of orchids from her bridal bouquet. The ibrlde, only daughter of Mrs. Laurence Edgar Story of Le noir, and the late Mr. Story, is a graduate of Lenoir high school and Lenoir-Rhyne College. She has done graduate study at Jul liard School of Music in New York City. At present she is di rector of instrumental music in the Shelby City schools. . The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Koger Fletch er, Sr., of Spartanburg, S. C., is a graduate of Spartanburg high school and Wofford College, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. At present he is manager of the B. F. Good rich Store in Shelby. Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher will make their home in Shelby on theri return from their wedding trip. ? ? ? On Monday evening, under the sponsorship! of the Woman's Society, Missj Kelly spoke at the North Wilkes boro First Methodist chnrch,' wberq she emphasised the need of more funds and more work en to carry on the work. There J Is a great need for leaders in every vocation. In her talk she gave a number of Illustrations of native African boys and girls, from &omee of poverty, and Ig norance, who through their train-1 Ing In the missions schools, had! become intelligent and useful! citizens, and were assuming lm-1 portant positions of leadership. I On Tuesday morning, Miss! Kelly a graduate of the North Wilkeeboro high school, spoke In' the school auditorium before a' large group of grammar grade' boys and girls, with their teach-' era, Misses Myrtle Tuttle, Myra! Sale and Lucille Young, who are [ studying aibout Africa. The chil dren enjoyed seeing one of the girls dressed In an African cos tume. While In the city Miss Kelly was a dinner guest Monday eve ning of Mrs. Walter Newton,' and an overnight guest of Mrs. \ Lane Atkinson, both of whom' were members ? of Miss Kelly's j graduating class. At the close of Miss Kelly's talk- Monday evening at the church, Mrs. Edd F. Gardner, president of the Society, present ed Miss K?lly with a check of twenty-five dollars as gift from the Society to be used in her work.
