Miss Ruth Linney has had stomach trouble, sinus trouble, and high blood pressure but seems nearly well. "Tam" C. Bowie, who died recently, spent part of his boyhOod in the Brier Creek community on the old iHarrill, Carmichael, or Andrew Bryan farm. Judge Bowie was a grandson of Dr. James Calloway and Mary Carmichael Calloway; a great-grandson of Sheriff Abner Carmichael and Fanny Bryan Carmichael; and a great-great-grandson of Andrew Bryan and his wife, the former Delphia Garnett Jones. Andrew Bryan, his wiMJ and some others of the family are buried on the Harrlll farm, o - Mrs. Albeit Pope Last Rites Today . Funeral service was held today at Little Rock church for Mrs. Edna Lee Land-Pope, 24, who died Tuesday at New Hope in Iredell county. Rey. W. 0. Johnson and Rev. Mr. Icenhour conducted the last rites. Mrs. Pope is survived by her husband, Albert Pope, five children and her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Vance Land. Mrs. Diltard Rites Held Wednesday Funeral service was held Wednesday for Mrs. Martha Jane Dillard, 84, resident of Mulberry township who died Tuesday. Rev. Monroe Dillard conducted the funeral service. Mrs. Dillard is survived by eight sons and daughters: Mrs. Mary Billings, Boomer; Monroe and Charlie Dillard, Erlanger; James and Challle Dillard, Hays; Sherman Dillard, E-rlanger; Avery Dillard, Schoolfield, Va.; Mrs. Bessie Bowman, Richmond, Va. The Wesley Bible class of the North Wilkesboro First Methodist church meets Tuesday evening, 7:80 o'clock, with Miss Pansy Ferguson. e ■— Pfc. Palmer's Pody Coming Next Week Remains of Pfc. Lloyd W. Palmer, who was killed in action in Europe December 14, 1944, and was buried in Belgium, will arrive in North Wilkesboro next week and funeral arrangements will be made then, it was learned today from his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.
