Mr. Brookshlre has been promoted to the position as manager of the Crest store in York, S. C., and will more there this week. Mrs. M. M. Darlington returned to her home last week after treatment at Wilkes Hospital. Friends wish for her a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. W. M. MoCulley and son, Edward, are expected to spend thei Thanksgiving holiday with Mrs. McCnlley'a parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Eller. Mr. and Mrs. R. Va., is expected here Wednesday for a few days visit in the home of, Mr. and Mrs. R. W. {Jwyn. Mrs. Wilson is a former ^resident of this city. Mr. John McNair, III, and Mr. Charles Dockery, students at Davidson College, spent laBt week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Smoak in Wilkeaboro. They were classmates of Mr. Smoak at Davidson college. o ^ Juniors Contribute To Children's Home North Wilkesboro council of the Junior Order is now accepting contributions to the children's home of the organization, whioh is located In Lexington. Last year $175.50 wa8 contributed through the council here. In addition W. H. H. Waugh for several years has given a truck load of apples and several have, helped with gathering and transportation. All members are requested to attend the meeting Tuesday, 7:30 p. m., at which time degree work will be carried out. Miss Dot, Powell, a student at High Point College, spent last week-end with iher parents, Mt. and Mrs. J. W. Beautiful Watch Presented Coach Adelman Just before the second half of the game started, Captain Jack Groce presented Coach Eddie Adelman with a beautiful Lord Elgin wrist watch, a gift from the members of the football squad and the cheer leaders.
