Watch for announcement of this meeting later. Miss Iris Barnette Wed To Mr. Staley Miss Iris Barnette, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Barnette, and Mr. Lake Staley, were unit ed in marriage at the home of the bride's parents, Saturday, August 28, at 6 o'clock in the evening. Rev. G. A. Frost, of Galax, Va., officiated. Members of the immediate families and friends were present. The couple entered together and stood before an improvise^ altar of mixed flowers. The bride wore a white pique suit, featuring fitted jacket, with pleated collar and full skirt with white accessories, and a corsage of red roses. The bride's mother wore pink, with brown and white acces sories, with a corsage of white rosebuds. The groom's mother wore navy with black accessories, and a cor sage of white rosebuds. After the ceremony. a recep tion was held at the home where cake and punch was served. The couple left for a wedding trip to Asheville and points of inter est in Virginia.?Reported. Mrs. Dudley Hill Auxiliary Hostess The September meeting of the Episcopal Auxiliary was held on Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Dudley Hill on Fifth Street, having a splendid attendance of the members. Mrs. B. R. Under wood, the president, was in charge of the business session, Rev. B. M. Lackey, of Lenoir, led the devotions, and Mrs. Paul Harvel, Jr., gave the program.
