Bumgarner, of the Millers Creek community is a freshman at Pfeiffer College. He entered school there Septem ber 6th. Mrs. Jim Hodges and Mrs. Joe Norris of Boone, spent the week-end here in the home" of Mr. and Mrs. Russell G. Hodges. The visitors are sisters of Mr. Hodges. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Smith and son, of Price, were week-end guests of Miss Carrie Powell in 'Wilkesboro. On Sunday Miss Powell and guests visited with Mr. John Powell in Lenoir. Misses Alice and Lillian Dot son have gone to Gladys, Va., to live with their Dotson grandpar ents. The girls' parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Dotson, are leaving at a later date to make their home there. Mr. Phillip Mitchell, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. P. They were residents of Wilkesboro while Mr. Ford was farm forester for three coun ties. He was transferred to Asheville and now has 19 coun ties in his area. Shumate, who has been manager of the pro duce department of the Dixie Home store, has accepted the po sition as representative of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in this area.
