Feted At Three Events
In continuing an interesting
round of social events for Miss
Mary Gage Barber, bride-elect
of tbis month of Joe Clements,
three courtesies were extended
her over the week-end. Saturday
afternoon Mrs. Tom T. Foster
entertained at a Coca-Cola party
at the home of her parents, Dr.
and Mrs. G. T. Mitchell, in Wil
kesboro, for Miss Barber, also
Miss Ruth Steelman, who is to
wed T. R'. Bryan, Jr., and the
hostess' cousin, Miss Josephine
Hunter, of Fayetteville, who was
here visiting Miss Helen Phil
lips. Each of the honorees were
given corsages, Miss Barber silv
er, Miss Steelman china, and
Miss Hunter stationery. Mrs.
Foster received eighteen guests
at four o'clock and during the
hour was assisted by her moth
er, Mrs. Mitchell, in serving
tempting refreshments.
Miss Kate Finley was hostess
at an informal luncheon Monday
at Bluff Park, honoring Miss
Barber. Covers were laid for
ten. The honoree received from I
Miss Finley silver in her chosen |
pattern.

was a card party given by Mrs.
C. Monroe Williams and her sis
ter, Miss Alice Cassell, at the
Cassel home in Wilkesboro. The
hostesses presented Miss Barber

field, a newcomer to Wilkesboro,
was also remembered with a gift.

tables with the top score prize
in bridge going to Miss Betsy
Barber and in rook to Mrs. Tom-|

A salad and sweet course, car

was served at the conclusion of
play, and the tallies were in

ber and Miss Elizabeth Barber,
mother and aunt of the bride-to
be, came in for the refreshments.
