To attain this honor a studnet must average 2.5 or above. Mr. Finley was one Of eleven senolrs to make the honor roll. o Preaching Service At Pilgrim Church The pastor, Rev. A. A. Preaching Service At First Presbyterian Rev. W. R'. Smith, III, will preach at the First Presbyterian Church Sunday morning, April 16th. Mr. Smith is a graduate of Davidson College. After completing his seminary training he returned to Davidson to serve as Y. M. C. A. secretary, and he is still serving in that capactiy. Mrs. Robert Church had charge of the program.. The Young Women's Auxiliary met for the regular meeting Monday night with Mrs. Sam Soots with twelve members present. Topic for month was "God's Presses At Work." Relatives met at the home of Mrs. N. E. Burchette Sunday for Easter dinner together, Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Colin Pardue and son Jerry, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Byrd and children, Mr. and Mrs. David Day and children, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Day and children, Mr. and Mrs. Talmage Burchette and children, Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Burchette, of Elkin, Mr. and Mrs. Garvey Burchette, of Yadkinville, Mrs. J. M. Church, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Price, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Farell, of Greensboro. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Martin announce the birth of a daughter on April 8th. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Polndexter and family spent Sunday with Mm. Polndexter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Noah Wagoner, at Pleasant Hill. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey York visited Mr. York's mother, Mrs. Ella York, at Union Grove Sunday. Manny Greenlinger, of Brooklyn, N. Y., representative for the Home Chair Co.* Is spending a few days here. He was accompanied by his family. Mrs. Robert I* Boger and small daughter, Jennie Lynn, spent the Easter holidays with Mrs. Boger"s parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. W. McBride. We are sorry to note Rev. L. M. Cook is on our sick list this week. Mrs. J. A. Golliher underwent an operation at the Wilkes hospital Wednesday morning. Mrs. Richard Martin spent Wednesday with Mrs. Florence Bentley, who is critically ill at the Elkin hospital. I—o Preaching SAvice Rev. S. I. Hill has returned to his home here after an operation last week at Baptist hospital in Winston-Salem. He is improving rapidly, friends are glad to learn. o — Cadet Tommy Turner was home from the Georgia Military Academy, College Park, Ga., to spend the Easter season with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Turner, Cricket postoffice. He had as his guest Cadet Bill Reins, son of Lieut. Colonel and Mrs. Ralph R. Reins, who are now in Arkansas. Cadet Reins is also a student at the academy.
