Ca rpente r-Hodges Vows Exchanged Miss Ionise M. Hodges, daugh ter of Mrs. Bertha R. Hodges, of Moravian Falls, become the bride of Troy Edwin Carpenter, of Lin coln toa, on Thursday afternoon, June 1, 6:30 o'clock, at the home of the bride. Rev. C. C. Holland, a former pastor of the bride, officiated, us ing the double ring -ceremony. Latham Carpenter, brother of the groom, and Mack Brock, a cottsin of the bride, lighted the candles. The ring bearers were also cous ins, Mrs. Mack Reavia and Walter Rerls. The bride and groom entered the room together. The tows were spoken before an improvised altar of ferns and gladioli, with seyen point candlebra on each side and on the mantle. The bride wore a white taffeta gown, cornered with a velvarary organza, designed with a portrait neckline, outlined with a bertha collar. After a wedding trip to Western North Carolina and parts of Vir ginia, the couple will be at home at Moravian Palls. Out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Z. S. Carpenter and Mr. and Mrs. Max Mosteller, of Lincolnton, Mr. and Mrs. James Alexander, of Kings Mountain; Mr. and Mrs. Lathan Carpenter, of Dallas; Mrs. Gene' Terres, Lin colnton, and Mr. S'. L. The dining table was spread with a white cloth, centered with a wedding cake topped by the mina ture bride and groom. The circles of the Wilkes boro Baptist church are meeting on Tuesday as follows: Circle No. 1 with Mrs. R. L. Wellborn at 2:80 o'clock. All members of the church are urged to attend and visitors will be welcome. Welesynn Service Guild of the Wilkesboro Methodist church will meet Tuesday evening, Mr. and Mm. Murphy Hunt expected to return to their home I here tomorrow from' Cullowhee, where they hare been since Friday attending the commencement fin al* at Western Carolina Tea chers College.
