down Galax 9 to 8 here last night.

Jerry Thornburg pitched his
first game for North Wllkesboro
here and struck oat eight. He re
tired for pinch hitter Hamlin in
the ninth and Hamlin finished on
the mound. Wes Dare went out for
Galax in the eighth and was re
lieved by White, who pitched the
fatal ninth.
The Flashers suffered a blow
Tuesday night when Wayne Davis,
outfielder, received a foot injury
and outfielder Don Boseo returned
to his home In Joliet, 111. Davis is
expected back in the lineup soon.

Catches 14-Pound
Fish With Hands
While fishing in Bob's fish lake
near Moravian Falls • yesterday
Marshall Bauguss had a most un
usual experience.
Mr. Bauguss hooked a large1
fish and after efforts to land it
the fish got off his hook in shal
low water near the bank. Deter
mined not to lose the fish, Mr.
Bauguss jumped into the water
and landed the 14-pound carp with
his hands after it had freed itself
from the hook.

Born September 24, 1924, Mrs.
