Thompson, of Charlotte, entertained at a luncheon at herjJiome In Charlotte Thursday htifcfcring Miss Estelle Audrey, of Pfn^rllle, and who is IP a librarian at the University of Florida. The honoree, a former librarian here in the North Wilkseboro public school, waa visiting with relatives in Charlotte. The hostess, formerly Miss Janie McDiarmid, of North Wilkesboro, ierved a two course luncheon at one o'clock with covers laid for twelve. Most of the guests were from North Wilkesboro and included Mesdames C. B. Jenkins, J. C. Reins, Guy Llllard, Misses Ellen Robinson, Elizabeth Finley, Ruby Blackburn, Rebecca Mosely, Lillian and Mary Lindsay Stafford. Woman's Bible Class Has Luncheon Meet The members of the Woman's Bible class of the First Methodist church enjoyed a luncheon meeting on Tuesday at the home of Mrs. W. F*. Gaddy in Finley Park, Mr. P. J. Brame, teacher Of the class, offered the invocation for the luncheon, Mrs. Bdd F. (Gardner conducted a meditation period, and Mrs. Isaac Eller, Sr., was in charge of the business session. The luncheon closed a six month's contest in attendance at Sunday School — during which time Mrs. Gaddy and Mrs. C. B. Lomax served as leaders for the two groups. Leaders named for the next six months are Mrs. J. W. Allen and Mrs. W. E. Jones. Mrs. Pearl Anderson T.E.L" Class Hostess Mrs. Pearl Anderson was hostess to the members of the T.E.L. class of the First Baptist church In their social meeting ing at her ho; and Seventh Streets. Mrs. Mattie Darlington led the devotions during which time each one present contributed with scripture verses and sentence prayers. Mrs. John; Joines in the absence of the presithe chair during the business sesdent, Mrs. J. T. Krbaugh, occupied sijon. Twelve members attended and were served refreshments durisg the social hour. Ex Libris Club Met Wi,th Mrs. Ford Ex Libris club members met with Mrs. James K. Ford at her home on F Street Friday afternoon. Mrs. Ford presided for a short business session, and gave as the program a review of "The Tale of Beatrix Potter," by Margaret Lane. Beatrix Potter is the author of Peter Rabbit and other children's books. At the close of he meeting tempting refreshments were served by the hostess. Circle No. 1 to be in charge of the program. Circles of the First Methodist church meeting this week are: The Gardner circle meets this evening, 7:45 o'clock, at the home of Mrs. Hight Helms. The Emma Horton circle Tuesday, 3:30 p. m., at the home of Mrs. Palmer Horton. The Franklin circle Tuesday evening, 7:45 o'clock, at the , home of Mrs. Murphy Hunt with I Mrs. Stokes Hunt and Mrs. H. J\ Wey-Eversole * Vows In Miami I St. Phillips Episcopal chinch was the getting of the two p. m. ceremony, Feb. 22, when Miss Gloria Miller Wey became the bride of Edwin Moore Eversole. The service was read by candle light. The bride, formerly of Purlear, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton M. Miller. The groom is the son of Mrs. Patricia Eversole, South Bayshore Drive, and the late Mr. Eversole. The bride wore a ballerina gown of white embossed organdy over blue taffeta, a matching hat, and carried a spray of white orchids and gardenias. Mrs. Jacquline DeWees, matron of honor, wore a similar gotfn of organdy over pink taffeta, and carried a bouquet of pink carnations. Mr. Joel DeWees, 9 fraternity brother of the bridegroom, Was best man. 1^51 The service was followed by a reception at Dallas Park Hotel, and the couple left for Havana, Cuba, on their honey-moon. The bride was wearing a navy suit and navy accessories and an orchid from her wedding boquet. ! Mrs. Bversole is a graduate of Mt. In a colorful setting arranged with the rose arbor as a background. The bride given in marriage by her uncle, D. L. Church, wore a ballerina length gown of white organdy with embroidered sweetheart neckline and full gathered skirt, with a matching embroidered half bonnet and long guntlets. She carried a white Bible topped with a white orchid, and only ornament was a strand of pearls. Miss Mildred Brown was maid —:— of honor for her sister, and Woodrow Wallace, uncle of the groom, served as best man, The maid of honor was dressed In blue organdy designed similar to the bride's dress, and carried an old fashioned nosegay of pastel flowers. When the couple left for their wedding trip, following the ceremony the bride.was wearing a navy blue suit with white accessories, and the orchid from her Bible. The bride was graduated from North WilKesboro high school, Mars Hill College, and U a 1950 graduate of Appalachian State ''eachers College at Boone. R. Chapter In Monthly Meeting The history and the use of the United States flag was subject for an Interesting talk given by Miss Ellen Robinson at the June meeting of the Rendezvous Mountain chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution held Tuesday afternoon at the home | of Miss Elizabeth Finley. Other (hostesses were Mrs. C. Don Coftey, Jr., and Miss Ruby Blackburn, and at the close of the meeting the hostesses group served deicious refreshments. Mrs. W. R. Absher, the new regent, was in charge of the business session. Mrs. Veola Hedrick, of jrampa, Fla., who ig here visiting jwith her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe E.
