Market in High Point.
Miss Virginia Hix Brame, who
was a patient at the Baptist Hospital
in Winston-Saiem for a number
of weeks, is now at home
here with her parents, -Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Brame, and is getting
along nicely.
Sammy .and Paul Brown Osborne,
Joe Mott, Jr., and William
Dula, are spending two weeks at
Oamp Elliott at Old Port. The boys |
were accompanied there Sunday
by the Osborne boys' father,'Mr.
Paul Osborne.
Mrs. Philip Weatherwax and
daughter, Ann Gray, have returned
to their home at Hamptpn, Va.,
after visiting Mrs. Weatherwax's
mother, Mrs. T. G. Perry. Mr.
Weatherwax came down and accompanied
them home.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Clements, of
State College, Raleigh, are arriving
.here Friday to spend the
remainder of the summer with
Mr. Clements's mother, Mrs. J. L.
Clements, and Mrs. Clements, parents,
Mr. and Mrs. William Barber.
Mrs. W. R. Harmon, of this
city, and son, Mr. Bill Harmon,
of Winston-Salem, are vacationing
this week at Manteo, and at
Williamsburg, Va., where they
have attended showings of "The
Lost Colony" and "Common
Glory."
Mr. and Mrs. Walter L. Chambers
and son, Walter, Jr., of Raleigh,
visited here during the
week-end with Mr. Chambers'
sister, Mrs. P. E. Forester. Mrs.
Rosa Chambers, of Winston-Salem,
is spending awhile here with
her daughter, Mrs. Forester.
Miss Dianne Rousseau, who had
been at Camp Hastings near Winston-Salem
for two weeks, returnhere
Sunday to the home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie
Rousseau, who with their other
daughter, Cynthia, went down to
the camp to accompany her home.
Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Cate, of
Columbia, S1. C. and daughter, Miss
Geraldine Cate, of Raleigh, were
guests of friends here Monday.
The Cates, who were residents of
North Wilkesboro many years ago,
were en "route to Little Phoenix
Lodge in Ashe county for a vacation.
Dr. and Mrs. H. B. Smith,
Mrs. Robert Brame, and Mrs. Carl
Coffey, spent the week-end at
Brevard and the Transylvania Music
Camp, and attended the four
o'clock concert on Sunday afternoon
given by the band. Miss Anne
Smith and Miss Nail Gwyn Brame
are staying at the camp.
Miss Mamie Sockwell had as
her guests for the week-end her
cousin, his wife and two daughters,
Mr. and Mrs. William J.
Sockwell, Misses Emma Lou and
Helen Jo Sockwell, and Miss Dolphine
Cobb and Miss Nancy Boone,
all Of Gibsonville. Miss Sockwell
and her visitors had a trip to
Boone and Blowing Rock Saturday
afternoon.

spend two weeks at Camp Shirley
Rogers at Roaring Gap. They went
over with Mrs. Dermont Smith and
Mrs. Weaver Starr, who went
there to bring home Miss Toby
Smith and Miss Ann Weaver Starr,
who had been in camp for two
weekB.
Mrs. Barney Robertson and
three daughters, Carol, Donna,
and Elaine, Of Augusta, Ga., who
have been spending several weeks
here with their grandmother, Mrs.
Delana Jennings, will be Joined
soon by Mr. Robertson to make
their home here. Mrs. Robertson
is the former Miss Lila Anne
Beish, of this city.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Hulcher
and son, Buddy, of Coshocton,

days over the week-end with
their relatives, left Tuesday to
spend awhile at Palm Harbor,
Florida, in the cottage owned
there by Mrs. Hulcher's people.

Adeline Jones, of this city.

to attend a band concert
given there at eight o'clock in
the evening by the Transylvania
Music Camp at Brevard, Of which
Mr. Phil Lomax is a member. The
band was directed by James
Christian Pfhol, of Davidson College.

Members of the Pastime bridge
club and two extra guests, Mrs.
1. L. Grogan and Mrs. Maurice
Walsh, were delightfully entertained
Monday evening by Charles
Day, Jr., at her home on D street.
In the game the guest prise went
to Mrs. Walsh, the top score prizes
for club members to Mrs. Johnson
Sanders, second high score
price to Mm. Robert Gambill, and
the bingo award to Mrs. Grogan.
The players at two tables were
served a salad coarse at the conclusion
of play.
