Drum and children, also John Drum, Mr. Drum's father, attended the Drum reunion at Taylorsville Sunday. The eMer Drum met nis sister from Colorado, whom he hadn't seen in forty-six years. Mrs. F. T. Moore was called to the bedside Of her father in Ruby, S. C., where he suffered a heart attack last week. A new Dry Kiln has been com pleted and now in use at the Home Chair Co. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Windsor and daughter, of Elkin, and Mr. Windsor's mother, Mrs. J. R. Windsor, of this place, spent Sun day "on the mountains. A revival is now in progress at Briar Creek church, where Rev. R. R. Crater is pastor, those at tending Sunday night were Mr. and Mrs. Colin Pardue and son, Jerry, Mrs. D. W. Burchette of Elkin, and Mrs. John Pardue of the Clingman community. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Miner, of Roaring River, spent Sunday at Hanging Rock. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Shumate and son, Jimmie and friends from Elkln visited at Hanging Rock, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Clay Combs, of Lexington, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hawkins. O < Macedonia News By MRS. W. P. THARPE Rev. J. F. Woodruff filled his egular appointment Sunday morn ing with a good attendance for both Sunday school and church services. Our revival began Sunday night with Rev. Roy Johnson, assistant minister, delivering good Gospel' sermons. Mrs. Wesley Poplin and child ren were the dinner guests of Mrs. C. R. Byrd and family. Other visitors in the home in the after noon were Mrs. Bertie Bauguess, and Miss Audrey Hoots; of North Wilkes boro. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Burchette and children were the dinner guests of Mrs. Jacob Key Sun day; also Mrs. W. E. Key and son, Irvin Key, visited them in the afternoon. "~Mrs~J. Tharpe home during the week end. * Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cheek, of Win ston-Salem, spent Saturday night with Mrs. Cheek's sister, Mrs. Warren Darnell and family. All visited relatives in North Wil kesboro on Sunday. . o Revival Services At Pleasant Home Revival services at Arbor Grove Baptist church will begin with the annual homecoming Sunday, Au gust 6, eight miles east of North Wilkesboro on highway 268, and continue through the week. Rev. Tommy Luffman; pastor will deliver the 11 o'clock ser mon. Rev. D. L. Temple, of Arling ton, will be guest minister in the revival services. A good program will be carried out, including a picnic lunch at noon. Singing will be in the after noon. Special singers and choirs are cordially invited. William L. Benson, CPA with the firm for the past three years, is in charge of the North Wllkes boro office. J : Elkin, July 25 — Five Persons were Injured, two of them serious ly, in an automobile collision near State Road yesterday irnrn ing. . 1 Sherman Harris, 28, guttered a fractured spine and broken ribs, Mrs. Beulah Loraine Carter, 25, suffered a fractured hip. Both were admitted at a local hospital. Mrs. Monette Durham, 25, Mrs. Azzie Mooney, 28, and Gar vey Franklin Carter, all of State Road, were discharged after treat ment. The injured were occupants of a car driven by Curtis Odell Carter, 20, of State Road, and were en route to work at Chat ham Manufacturing Company here when it collided with one driven by Ernest Thomas, Negro, of near Elkin. None of the occupants of the Thomas car was injured. Both cars were extensively damaged. No charges have yet been made in the accident, highway patrol men said. o Rev. A. C. Waggoner Is Now In Canada Mt. Airy, July 22 — Rev. A. C. Waggoner, pastor of Central Meth odist Church of this city, and Rev. H. M. Servage of Queens street United Church, Kingston, Ontario, have exchanged parson ages and pulpits for a month, ac cording to an announcement by Rev. Mr. Waggoner. Rev. Mr. Waggoner, Mrs. Wag goner and children have gone to Ontario, while Rev. Mr. Servage and family Arrived in Mt. Airy to day. This exchange of pastorates is no new thing, Mr. Waggoner says. He has done this many times be fore. He went to Toronto, Canada, last year.
