' 1 Tokyo, Thursday, July 27 — leneral MacArthur paid his sec ond (lying visit to the Korean rar front today, It was learned lere. MacArthur paid his first visit o the Korean front June 29. Tokyo, Thursday, July 27 — Ulled forces today blunted a nenaclng North Korean thrust 70 niles vest of the main port of Pusan and stalled or shoved back ;he invader elsewhere on the 200 nlle front. General MacArthur's headquar ers said the First Cavalry Division lad made "slight withdrawals" sast of Tongdong, 95 air miles aorthwest Of Pusan. But these were only to strengthen hill posi tions. Headquarters declared there had been no important change on the front in the last 24 hoars. Field dispatches, however, told of (J. S. and South Korean attacks both south and northeast of Yong Song. U. S. troops, supported by jet fighters, were reported to have recaptured Hadong, high point in a. South Coast Red thrust to with in 70 miles of Pusan. Another aerial onslaught was said to have aided South Koreans in driving the North Koreans back north of Hamchang, which is 35 air miles northeast of Yong dong. It is on this sector of the front that the Reds have been exerting considerable pressure, trying to cut south behind the Allied supply lines to the Yongdong front. MacArthur's headquarters said Dothing about this South Korean attack. Apparently based on ear lier Information, Its release said the Reds were attacking in the Hamchang area both frontally and with a flanking movement. Headquarters said, however, that the entire line running all the way from Yongdong approxi — mately 100 miles eastward to the eoast was fairly stable with no Important changes. —o Miss Lelia Cooper recently re turned here to the home of her parents, Dr. and Mrs. EL S.
