As an Ingredient in the compost heap the are ol inestimable value, and also s a dressing for turnips, cabbages, beans, &c. Even leached ashes are now bought up by farmers, and applied as a top dressing to lands in grain and grass. They are also used with success as an ingredient in compost, and lor giving increased energy to fruit trees.
