k NEW CHEMICAL DISCOVERY.
WlfOST people know, that Skins and

When the force and strength of the
Tannin is worn out, leather becomes
lead, hard, dry, brittle, cracked, covered

To restore then life, softness, moistness,
Strength, smoothness, and remove all
crusts, fly, or blister restore the tannin
This substance the leather never can re

of TA JV-VJV which penetrates ihe stiff

twenty years in use; and if it tears easily
with the fingers, it imparts at once a
Strength that is utterly incredible until

respects, with a delightful softness ami
polish, and makes all leather completely
and perfectly impervious to water partic

made of leather, giving a splendid polish,
even higher than new leather has, md at

These are Facts.

Doct. John Sapfington:
Dear sir, In 1834, it I mistake not.

of your Anti-fever Pills. I sold them.
In the winter of 1S58 and '39, prehap.

In January, 1841, another agent (Mr

Pills he had, (he was gathering up al
left in this Slate and Virginia.) After
leaving here lor home he returned in

The only resource left me is to apply t
you for direction.
I deal in Pills to a very considerabh
extent, but yours are the only ones that 1
can recommend on my own authority, or
that are worth having, in my estimation.
I would notgivetwo c?nts for all the Pill

with the Billious, or Ague and Fever,
(which o much prevail here,) I would
not exchange your's for their weight ii
gold. The truth is, I believe they never
have failed to cure, if taken according to
directions, where the case was curable by
human skill; and therefore approach infal

discovered, for the diseases mentioned in
your advertisement. Respectfully, your

WOHMS! WORMS!!
Startling Facts.
J-JUNDREDS of children and adults
are lost yearly with Worms, when
some other cause has been supposed to be
the true one. It is admitted by all Doc
tors that scarce a man, woman or child
exists but what are sooner or later trou
bled with worms, and in hundreds of ca
ses, sad to relate, a suppostd fever, scar
latina, cold, or some oilier ailing carries
off the flowers of the whole human fami
ly while in truih they die of Worm.!
and these could have been eradicated in
a day, by the use of a bottle of
Kn tmstoc ' s f'e r m ift ige,
t the cost of a quarter of a dollai!
How sickening the thought that these
things should be ami who can forgive
themselves for not trying this H orm Lx
terminator, w hen they know that even il
the case was not worms, this remedy
could not by any possibility do hurl but
always good as a purgative let the dis
ease be what it may. How important
then to use it, and who will dare lake the
responsibility to do without ii? Let ee
ry parent that is not a brute, ask them
selves this question in truth & soberness.
In some of the best families in the neigh
borhood of St. John's Park.il has been
extensively used, frciu ihe circumstance of
having eradicated a large quantity of
worms, after all other remedies had fail
ed, which was extensively known in that
part of the cityt
In numerous cases other complaints
were supposed to exist, and the persnu
treated for fever, Sec. but finally a trial of
this Vermifuge discovered the true cause
of the sickness, by bringing away almost
an innumerable quantity of Worms, large
and small, and the persons recovered
with great despatch. Instances ol this
kind miuht be cited to an immense ex
tent, but it is useless, one trial for 25
rents w ill show any one with astonish
ment the certain effects of this Vermifuge.

The Liifc llcdieincs
Have in many cases been recommended
and used by physicians. They have
slood ihe severest test, and proved ihe
most unfailing remedy ever offered to the
sufferer, under almost every disease. As
a general family medicine they are most
invaluable.
The Life Medicines have been used
with success in almost every disease to
which mankind is liable, and for billions
and liver complaints, with their many
w ell known attendants, billions and sick
headache, pain and oppression after
meals, giddiness, dizziness, singing noise
in the head and ears, drowsiness, heart

ihey are acknowledged to be vastly supe

as a general family aperient, for either

LEW PlEEiS
And Plu'iiiv Hitler
Is most certain, if freely given on the at
tack of fever, influenza, measles, sore
throat, recent colds, with cough, and oth
er inflammatory disorders. In rheuma
tism and chronic complaints they have al
so performed the most extraordinary
cures, when used with perseverance.
Since the first introduction of Dr. Mof
fat's Life Medicines to his fellow citizens,
they have in every case, fully maintained
the high character ihey so well deserved.
Patients who had for years drawn on a
miserable existence, and many who had
lost the use of their limbs by rheumatism
and paralysis, have been restored to
health, strength and comfort, after the u
sual remedies had been found useless. Its
astonishing and almost miraculous effects
have also been experienced, in the cure ol
nervous and rheumatic pains of the head
and face, paralytic affecti ms, contrasted
and stiffjoints, glandular swellings, pains
of the chest and bones, chronic rheuma
tism, palpitation of the heart, difficult res

Complaints arising from a vitiated
state of the blood are easily subdued by
ihe powerful efficacy of these mild and
salutary mediciues.
In addition to the numerous testimonials
