Republicans Meet Tonight
The Tryon Township Republican convention will be
held tonight at the Lynn School auditorium at 7:45. A. N.
Kunkieis chairman. Delegates to the County conven
tion will beelected.
John Bridgeman Hits Man
With Fist, Who Later Dies
' Ben Hardin, 45, is hit by John Bridgeman, in a quarrel Wed
nesday at Alexandria Mills, near Forest City. The cause of the
trouble has not been learned. Bridgeman is held in Forest City
jail. Hardin was knocked unconscious and died yesterday in
Rutherford hospital according to reports at Tryon where Bridge
man formerly lived. Both men were working in a warehouse.
Horse Show Visitor’s Class
A class fpr Tryon visitors has been provided in the coming Horse Show
on April 8. There will be no entry fee. Mounts to be obtained from
local riding establishments. Either lady or gendeman rider. Horseman
ship, 50 per cent; conformadon, 25 per cent; style of going, 25 per cent
First prize, to rider, Tryon Riding and Hunt Club trophy; to owner of
mount, $10.00; second, third and fourth prizes, ribbons.
Scout Meeting at Saluda
The Polk County Bog Scout Court of Honor meets
tonight at Saluda school auditorium, at 7:45. A full
attendance is urged.
