Vol. 4. •, Mrs. J.'B. Arl<Mge Dead Wife of Rev. J. B. Arledge died this morning about 9 o’clock at her home in Valhalla following a stroke two weeks ago. She had been in poor health for several months. Funeral services will be held Friday, at 3 P.M. at Friendship Baptist church, Rev. R.H. Morgan of Saluda offici ating. The deceased was a native of Polk county. Before her marriage L she was Miss Jennie Newman. Surviving are her husband, and ten jr children: Bill, of Hidnite, N. C., J. Spurgeon, Hose L. and Mrs. Abbie Wilson of Tryon, Fred D. of Saluda, Mrs. Minnie Hippos Saluda, Mrs. Alice Green of Lynn, Mesdames Helen Wyatt and Leila Bishop of Val halla, Mrs. Bernice Hines of Inman. The pallbearers are P. G. Morris, G. L. Thompson, Mack Pace, A. H. Williams, Layton Capps, John Ed wards. * ' Fractured Skull and Leg In Child-Truck Collision William Whitmire, ? year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Crawford Whitmire of Soumerco ran into a truck about 2 p. m today while playing, and suffered a fractured skull, left thigh and leg. was still unconscious at the hospital this afternoon and is in a critical condition. The accident occured near the inter section of the Hendersonville and Columbus Highway near Wil jv kins’ corner. The child was returning from school and is said to have JF jumped off the bank on the east side of the r6ad and ran into the side of the truck . A Mr. Bums was driving the truck for Mr. B. Prince who was with him at the time. State Bank Depository Here The Tryon Bank has been made a state depository for funds. $25,000 was deposited in the bank yesterday running the bank’s deposits to $109,000.00. £ # Newman-Browning Marriage Miss Edna Newman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.G.Newman of Tryon and Lynn, was married today noon to Mr. Victor BrowningAof Chaßes , ton, S. C. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride’s aunt, Mrs. E.B. Keater in Spartanburg. TJjje honeymoon will be spent in Tennessee.
