TRYON, N, C., MONDAY, FEB. 7, 1938 Packed Houses Enjoyed Two Performances of “Royal Whims” Large and appreciative audiences enjoyed the Garden club’s produc tion of “Royal Whims” by A Fior Friday and Saturday evenings. The play, a three-act comedy, was directed by Mrs. Louis Fuldner, who is well known in Tryon and the vicinity for her expert direction and splendid productions. It would be difficult to pick any one member of the cast for special mention —they all played their parts so well. It certainly was an all-star cast. The audiences were delighted to see the faces of many of their favorites generously in terspersed with several new faces. The ease with which the cast handled their parts and the clever characterization they gave, made it hard to believe that acting: was secondary to other vocations In their lives. Mrs. Fuldner has given us some beautiful scenery* in the past, but this time she has surpassed her former work. The 'audience gasps at the realistic view in front of them. Giant snow-capped moun tains soar up to blue skies. Pine trees and mountain foliage. Aus trian village and Alpine hut. 411 so real that it takes no imagina tion at all to transport oneself to Bad Ischl. Costumes, too, are native to Austria and the ladies in their quaint bodices and fancy aprons and the gentlemen in their picturesque hunting clothes, all make a delightful picture.
