4-H CLUBBERS RETURN ,A large group of Polk county 4-H boys and girls returned from their annual Week at camp at Swannanoa. The 37 clubsters spent a happy healthy week in the mountains swimming, hiking and other forms of recreation. On Wednesday ridght, S. LI Homewood, County Agent of Mc- Dowell county gave a very inter esting talk on hobbies and their importance in a person’s life. On Tuesday night M)r. Nuthings of the T. V. A. gave a one-hour moving picture showing the im portance of wild life and conser vation and the hazards of forest fires. The other two evenings were given to recreation and stunts. The boys and girls enjoyed two swimming periods in the pool each day. The mornings were given to hikes making study of trees, ero sion control and planting forest trees. One morning was spent in camp when some of the boys learn ed how to bottom chairs and the girls made pictures or worked on cloth articles. The afternoons were given to tours to the Experiment Station, Asheville Recreation Park and 'Montreat at Black Mountain. The food and water at the camp were excellent and the clubsters returned home feeling fine and fit for work or school.
