Est. 1-31-28 Scout Exective Board Met at Lake Sunday The Piedmont Boy Scout Council executive board met on Sunday at 11 o’clock at the Council Camp at Lake Lanier. President Bismark Capps presided over the religious service and the business session. A number of officials brought their wives and guests to inspect the •new additions to the camp. The camp has made the most improve ment this year of any time since the camp was established. The new assembly hall and accompanying bed rooms, the pottery shed, water works system, and athletic field as well as a number of new cabins have been built this summer and the need for more improvement is seen as more boys are filling the camp beyond capacity. Some have been turned away for lack of facilities. District officials state that the camp is the most outstanding in the southeast. Seth Vining’s Group No. 1 won with 12 points playing table tennis. The total points for each group announced before today’s results were tabulated were Seth Vining’s group with 56 points; R. L. Wil liams’ with 50; Harold Taylor’s with 54; Lock McGeachy and Jack Melton each with 35. Jimmie Jack son, who just returned from a trip out West, and who has been a member of the club every year since it started, joined us again today. Motorcade Here On Wednesday Mayor E. E. Missildine has re ceived a message from the Cham ber of Commerce of Greenville, S. C., stating that a motorcade of 100 ’prominent citizens of Greenville, S. C., would be thru Tryon on Wednesday afternoon about 4 o’clock and would give a musical performance by the Green ville Municipal Band. The motor cade is a good will tour to Tryon, Saluda and Hendersonville. All friends and visitors are invited to meet the motorcade and hear the band. Dr. Missildine has writ ten Greenville a letter of welcome. Scouts Meet Tuesday Tryon Boy Stout Troop No. 1 will meet on Tuesday night at 7:30 with Scoutmaster W. A. Schillet ter in charge.
