ago A picture of the
Tryon Girls’ Basketball team of
about ten years ago is on display
in the window of the Blue Ridge
Weavers. One of the girls lives
in Washington, D. C., another in
Minnesota, another teaches in
Washington, N. C., but you get the
fun of guessing them from the
picture .... Bill Baker, student
at Duke University and repre
sentative of the State Department
of Conservation and Development
was in the Bulletin office Thurs
day with his camera and shot
the editor, press, etc. He was a
guest in the home of E. Perry
Manville .... Just back from
Mjyrtle Beach 26 East Tennessee
farm boys stopped over in Tryon
this morning headed for their
mountain homes. They had never
seen the ocean and had a great
time. Trip was made in a canvas
covered truck for which they paid
50c per day parking space. They
slept under the canvas on blank
ets and quilts which they brought
along; bought their food from
stores. They did no cooking; had
no dishes to wash. It was a trip
for boys. Very economical. The
driver said that had they known
it sooner they could have gotten
free parking, but that it was worth
the 50c a day just to be near the
crowds.
