Mark R. Holmes Mark R. Holmes, age 54, man ager Southern Railway Clerks Mountain Home, Saluda, N. C., a former Chattanoogan, died in Ashe ville on Monday night. He is sur vived by his wife, Nell Morgan Holmes, one son, Mark C. Holmes, Louisville, Ky., two brothers, John M„ Holmes and Charles W. Holmes, Chattanooga, Tenn., three sisters, Mrs. Mamie Hill, Atlanta, Ga.; Mrs. Daisy Calvert, Washington, D. C., and Mrs. W. T.. Hines, of Norfolk, Va. He was connected with the Southern Railway for a number of years; a member of the Order of Railway Telegraphers; Hamilton Dodge I. O. O. F. and Olive Rebekah Lodge I. 0. O. F. Funeral services Thursday at 2 P. m., at Chattanooga, Tenn., con ducted by Dr. Carl Poison, min ister, Shinn Memorial church. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Word have returned to Laurens, S. C., after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. D F. Buchanan.
