TRYON 53; BLUE RIDGE 7 Tryon high school defeated Blue Ridge Friday afternoon 53 to 7 at the first home game at Har mon Field. Jim Baker of Tryon made three touchdowns, two of them on 80 yard runs. Nathan Moore made two, receiving long passes from Beatson and Melton. Austin Brown, intercepted one for another touchdown. Melton made two on long end runs. The Tryon team showed fine teamwork. The line up was as follows: Moore, LE; Kuykendall, LT; Camp, LG; Butler, C; Bridgeman, RG; Martin, RT; Ballew, RE; Wall, QB; Melton, LH; Baker, RH; Beatson, FB. Subs: Brown, Edwards, Rhodes, Morris, Bobby Bishop, Billy Dick, and McKaig. DR. A. M. CHEYNEY Dr. Anna M. Cheyney, 80-year old neuropathic physician, died last night at St. Luke’s hospital. Funeral arrangements have not been completed, but will be an nounced in Monday’s Bulletin. Dr. Cheyney had been in Tryon for about 25 years, and for some time had an office in the Hester build ing. She came of a pioneer Pennsylvania Quaker family. HERE FOR WEDDING Among those arriving for the Trowbridge-M-acLaughlin wedding are Miss Mary Palmer, of Wo man’s College University of North Carolina and her collegemate, Miss Julia Pepper, of Walnut Grove, N. C.; Miss Peggy Lin coln, also of W. C. U. N. C., Miss Kathryn Kerhulas of Winthrop college. Capt. Theo Kerhulas of Fort Benning, Ga., is here for a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kerhulas. Lieut. Ted Bates of Camp Lee, Va., arrived Friday for a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Bates. ERROR CORRECTED: Sunny field Print Butter at the A&P is 52 cents a pound. Mrs. Rachel Slocumb has re turned from an extended visit in the west. Mrs. N. T. Lane, Miss Belle Lane and Mrs. Josephine Lane Carter of Manchester, Mass., have returned to Tryon for their fifth winter season and are at Oak Hall cottage No. 2. Miss Helen Cawthray leaves to day for Des Moines, Iowa, to join the WAACS. Miss Cawthray is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Cawthray and is a graduate of Tryon high school. Mrs. J. H. Rion accopanied Mb' son, Corporal James Rion, iXBk to Camp Monmouth, N. J., as far as Washington, D. C., where she will visit her daughter, Mrs. Charles MacDonald, who is to be in a wedding today.
