Recapped Passenger Tires following- memorandum has iff received by the local Ration ing Board from the State Ra tioning Office: “Since the newspaper story un der a Washington headline that appeared on October 1st with ref erence to increased quotas of re capped passenger tires, this office as well as the local boards, has been literally swamped with in quiries and applications. Unfor tunately many people have gained the impression that everyone is now able to obtain recapped tires. “The increased allotment was in tended to assist the Boards to take care of some of the surplus eligible applications now on file. There has been no change what soever in the eligibility of any in dividual to qualify for recaps.” COMMUNICATIONS Dear Mr. Vining: Well from the articles in The Bulletin some people are still left in school there. I always look forward to seeing how the foot ball games come out. I sure do wish I was there playing with the boys. The Bulletin is a big hit here and my room always has a crowd of boys in it reading my old Bulletins. I have saved them all for reference about other class mates and schoolmates who have gone away like myself. I can say I am the only boy here who gets a daily paper. It is always in my box and I appre ciate your prompt service in get ting it out to me. The weather here has been very pleasant and enjoyable. We have n’t had but three rainy days in a month. Hope every one in Tryon is feeling fine. Cadet R. Andrews, Box 344, Tennessee Military In stitute, Sweetwater, Tennessee.
