WALGREEN AGENCY Hallowe’en Party John Earle Camp celebrated his seventh birthday Monday after noon with a Hallowe’en Party at the home of his mother. The guests received masks as they arrived and then played games while eating pop corn and candy. Prizes were awarded to Norma Spangle, Rich ard Alewine and Jackie Eargle. Later in the evening the guests were invited into the dining room where cake, punch and baskets of candy were served. Mrs. T. B. Waldrop and Miss Barbara Shields assisted Mrs. Camp with entertaining. Friends of Milton Fouts, form erly of Tryon, will be interested to know that he is back with the Farmers Federation in Morgan ton. Mr. Fouts has been connect ed with the Federation in Tryon and a former manager at Lenoir. SING A SONG OF CHINA Sing a song of Allies; A pocket full of tunes. Four and umpty orchestras Set up as many “croons.” And so we hear a plenty Of Rhumbas, and the like Of several nations’ favorites Come floating off the “mike”. We listen to the “Troika” And “Scarlet Sarafan,” And shout: “Hurrah for Russia!” As loudly as we can. But where is China’s cheering And ccmplimentry tune? Thus far we’ve failed to hear it. Let’s hope to hear it soon. For surely they must have one— A Chinese national hymn A nation with such backbone, And such “self-rising” VIM! Hilda Baldwin Siller. Tryon.
