HOSPITAL NEWS The following patients were ad mitted to St. Luke’s Hospital: Mrs. Hugh Howard, R-l, Saluda; .Lucy Rhodes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rhodes, Tryon; Miss Katharine Uchtmann, Tryon. There were no discharges from the hos pital. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Fore of Columbus are the parents of a boy born Sept. 18, at 12:32 a. m. New Precinct Chairman Thurston Arledge has been ap pointed Chairman of the Tryon Precinct Democratic Committee to fill the unexpired term of James E. Johnson. Mr.. Johnson after one and a half years of service as chairman, retired for reasons of health and business. IN CHARLOTTE HOSPITAL Harrison Bridgeman Jr., is in the Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital in Charlotte where he had an operation on his throat Monday. He is in room No. 2 and is reported doing nicely.
