Elmer Wilson caught two 17 year
old boys stealing Christmas tree
lights and doing other damage to

suspended road sentence upon good
behaviour and payment of $17.75
in costs . . . Each year the Town
of Tryon adds to its miles of
paved streets. There are still 10
12 dirt streets to be paved,
road to the Colored School has

according to plans. Steps have also
been made to increase the water
supply on property where the town
alreadv owns the water rights as
a result of a purchase in 1926. A
pipeline will be laid from Fall
Creek where we get all our water

corner before the STOP light was
installed, has been moved to the
South Trade Street intersection

| Country Club Bridge Players
To Hold Tournament Series
The Tryon Country Club bridge
players will hold the first of a
series of bridge tournaments next
Tuesday, Jan. 8th, at 1:30 p. m.,
at the Club House. Mrs. George
Vance, chairman of the bridge
committee, stated Wednesday that
already 27 members had paid the
$1 bridge membership fee for the
tournament expenses to cover the
entire series of six. months or more
as determined by the members. A
charge of 25c will be made for each
session to pay for the prizes of
fered for that day. There will be
a session once a month. Reserva
tions are not necessary. All mem
bers of the club are invited to par
ticipate. This is not a duplicate
bridge tournament.
TAX LISTING TIME
Mrs. Clarence Scoggins, tax list
er for Tryon Township, will be at
the Town of Tryon office next to
Buckingham Inn every day this
month from 9 a. m., to 4 p. m. All
owners of property in this township
must list it for taxes this year.
Nativity Scene Closes Friday
The Nativity scene ,at the Co
lumbus Presbyterian Church will
remain two more datfsT Thursday
and Friday nights and .,those who
have not seen the impressive dis
play may do so anytime Ibefore
10 p. m., on these nights before
lights are turned off. The scene has
attracted many visitors from all
over this section.
