Dear Mrs. Arnold: Replying to your letter publish ed in Dec. 24th, Daily Bulletin, I know I speak for the community when I tell you we are all very sorry about' the unfortunate ex\ perience recited in your letter. However, it in only fair to point out that the town of Tryon and its law enforcement officials were not involved in any way. The State Highway Patrolman who ap prehended your husband is under the direction of the State High way Department. The magistrate before whom your husband ap peared is a State appointee and neither he nor the patrolman are subject to direction by the Town of Tryon. I sincerely regret the whole in cident and wish to assure you that the Town of Tryon and its officials are always courteous and sym pathetic with all visitors.
